Field Experience
As the semester is winding down my time a Mohawk Elementary School is almost up. It is a bitter sweet feeling, I made a great connection with my students which will make it hard to leave but then I also am excited to start student teaching so I can begin to move forward with my life. I honestly feel that being at Mohawk the past 12+ weeks have greatly helped me become a better teacher. Practice makes perfect and I am willing to do whatever it takes to become a better teacher! I had a wonderful field experience but I know that not everyone will feel the same. To all underclassmen who have not taken any field classes yet, my advice is to embrace it and take it as one of the best learning experiences you can get.

No gym, no problem!
Some people can't afford a gym membership, or they don't have the time to go so they don't want to waste money for something there not going to use. I'm here to tell you that you DO have time and you can do it in the comfort of your home with equipment you have around the house. There are four important goals you'll want to follow though when working out.
1. Always remember to breathe!!
2. Form is extremely important when in comes to preforming exercises correctly
3. Take it slowly, no need to rush into a workout/exercise it takes time to get to where you may want to be.
4. Your goal is to fail, most people don't understand this. It is not fail in your workout its to put your muscles into failure. Pushing the limit of your strength until your strength is spent.
Some exercises that you can preform at home though are;
-running up and down the stairs a few times to get some cardio
-Push ups
-use any chair and do some triceps dips
-many ab exercises can be done with body weight and not additional weights or equipment
-Planks
-Squats
-Stair/chair step ups
And just like that we have a full body workout quick and easy and done in the comfort of your own home!

Best ways to reduce stress
You'd be lying if you said you weren't stressed at this point of the semester. Thankfully I have some things that can help reduce your stress in a healthy, effective way.
1. Listening to music
2. Call a friend
3. Eat healthy
4. Drink warm tea
5. Exercise (even if its just for a minute)
All of the above can help reduce the amount of stress you are experiencing, there is also many more. Hopefully these help you make it through the rest of the semester, and finish strong!

Professors who think the only class you have is theirs:
Professors do not realize that you are not their only class to focus on, yes we have other classes, and yes those professors give us a ton of assignments as well. Do they find in funny seeing us struggle? There is only a few that I have that do this, but I have to say that I am also blessed with professors who understand that were struggling and give us extensions on things....(Dr. Leight) :D I feel that professors are the real issue why some students are procrastinators! If you give me an assignment that's not due for 4 days, sorry, but in reality i'm not going to work on it until the night before because I have other assignments that are due before then. I have to focus day by day thinking to myself, "ok whats due tomorrow?" Especially with Thanksgiving break coming up professors are going crazy cramming everything in since the semester is quickly ending.
